Welcome to Childer Thornton English Hub

Childer Thornton English Hub is one of The Department for Education’s 34 English Hubs. This is in recognition of our excellent track record in phonics and reading. Our designated geographical areas include Cheshire West and Chester, Wirral, Liverpool, Halton and Warrington and our aim is to provide support and development to schools across our area by improving the teaching of early language and reading. We offer training and development to schools within our region through a collaborative approach to achieve better results for children.

Any school can engage with an English Hub and most begin by attending one of our Reading Pathway events. Participants are able to hear our passionate team share best practice in the teaching of phonics, and early language development as well as share their love of reading.
